Abstract Ideological and political education can be integrated into the teaching of the specialized course “fine chemical chemistry”. Plenty of ideological and political education elements can be exploited through a close connection with the knowledge points of this course and the teacher's role of cultivating students' virtue and morality can be fully played. With ideological and political education integrated in the course, students' concepts of green development and quality development can be cultivated. They may increase their awareness of serving the people, promote innovative spirit and professional dedication, develop their scientific way of thinking and research methods and form correct values and a correct outlook on life. This paper explored the implementation strategy of ideological and political education in “fine chemical chemistry” to improve the comprehensive quality of students and therefore, transport high-quality fine chemical talents for the society.
