Abstract The evaluation of the achievement of courses is the basis of the evaluation of the achievement of professional talent training goals and graduation requirements, and is one of the important examination contents in the certification of teachers' majors. Organic chemistry experiment is a compulsory practical course for chemistry major. In order to reasonably evaluate the teaching quality and teaching effect of this course, took the organic chemistry experiment course of chemistry major of Neijiang Normal University as an example, introduced the basic information of the course, the course goals and its support for graduation requirements index points. From formative evaluation and summative evaluation, direct evaluation and indirect evaluation, comprehensive evaluation, etc., the evaluation process and the application of evaluation results were introduced in detail. The research results provide references for the teaching reform and teaching quality evaluation of related courses.
