Abstract Chemistry specialty English is often encountered and applied by college students during their professional knowledge learning, innovation ability development, and practical ability training. This article aimed at the problems of insufficient learning motivation and poor memory of knowledge in the process of chemistry specialty English teaching. Combined with the practical application needs of students for chemistry specialty English, it introduced the teaching team’s experience and reflection during the exploring and practicing a new mode of chemistry specialty English teaching based on “learning by using”.
