Development and Teaching Application of Wireless Visual Microscopic Melting Point Apparatus

Abstract Based on the experimental teaching characteristics of melting point measurement, a new wireless and visual microscopic melting point apparatus was developed and applied in experimental teaching. This apparatus took the advantages of intelligent mobile devices and wireless WiFi technology, and has been authorized by the national practical patent. Compared with the traditional microscopic melting point meter (heating stage method), which was commercially available and widely used in experimental teaching, this novel apparatus was characterized by the low-cost, modularity, automatic operation, visualization and traceability in record storage. Due to the “one-to-many” and wireless visual observation model, this apparatus effectively increased efficiency and improved effect of experiment teaching of melting point measurement, and avoided the hidden dangers of health and security in experimental teaching.
