Abstract It was found that students used two chemical models with different levels of abstraction in problem solving, the top students used more chemical models with higher levels of abstraction. the models with different levels of abstraction had no obvious influence on the accuracy of chemical problem solving, but had significant influence on the efficiency of problem solving.
