Abstract This popular science experiment starts from the perspective of preventing wound infection with antibacterial agents. Silver nitrate and polycaprolactone are used as raw materials to prepare a silver loaded polycaprolactone fiber membranes by using a handheld electrospinning machine. The microstructure is characterized using scanning electron microscopy, and its antibacterial performance is tested. Through a combination of theory and practice, the preparation principle and antibacterial effect of in situ antibacterial fiber membrane are demonstrated. The operation process of this science popularization experiment is easy, the experimental results are easy to understand and involve the intersection of multidisciplinary knowledge, which effectively stimulates students’ learning enthusiasm and expands their horizons.
