Connotation and Constituent Elements of Essential Character ofChemistry: Analysis of Chemists' Reports Based on “Learning Power”

Abstract Based on the grounded theory, a qualitative analysis was carried out on the reports of chemists on the “Learning Power” platform, and the characters possessed by chemists were extracted and summarized, so as to build a theoretical model of the necessary character in chemistry. The model is framed by three dimensions: the unique characters in the field of chemistry, the characters commonly found in the scientific field, and the characters commonly found in various fields, including 11 characters elements such as love of chemistry, green chemistry awareness, critical questioning, rigorous truth-seeking, exploration and innovation, which provides a reference for understanding the essential character of chemistry.
