Abstract Energy conservation and carbon reduction in the chemical industry is an important strategy for achieving carbon neutrality. The key lies in improving the efficiency of the reaction process. Therefore,we need to deepen the understanding of reaction engineering more than ever before, guiding undergraduate students to understand the classical theory of reaction engineering based on“momentum, heat, and mass transfer with chemical reactions”,as well as the cutting-edge context of micro-nano scale in interdisciplinary backgrounds.Based on the background of deep integration of multidisciplinary in undergraduate education, this article proposes a classification teaching mode for chemical reaction engineering, focusing on teaching basic theory and engineering application knowledge based on different student groups, and practicing individualized teaching methods.Hopefully, this will provide new insights for the reform of chemical reaction engineering education.Addressing the complex multidisciplinary demands of carbon neutrality, this paper proposes a classified teaching mode featuring three tiers:foundational theoryengineering practicefrontier innovation.Through customized teaching strategies, this approach aligns chemical engineering education with carbon neutrality goals, providing a new paradigm for cultivating high-quality talent and advancing pedagogical reform.
