Abstract In the era where the “dual carbon” issue has risen to a national policy, building a community with a shared future for mankind and creating a sustainable ecological environment have become the mainstream of the times. This paper is based on the applications of carbon allotropes and their compounds in scientific research, practice, and daily life within the inorganic chemistry curriculum. By employing problem-based and case-driven teaching methods, it guides students to actively design carbon materials, fosters innovative thinking centered on “using carbon to manage carbon”, cultivates the creative abilities of first-year students, and builds their confidence in scientific research.
