Abstract In order to solve problems existing in laboratory safety and environmental protection, this paper put forward some methods based on teaching experiences and references from published articles. These methods included training the students and teachers on personal safety, lab safety and environmental protection, setting emergency equipments in labs, establishing the lab operation standards, harmlessly disposing the experimental wastes, creating a safe and environmentally friendly cultural atmosphere, and learning from foreign university, etc.
