Abstract  Based on the 2015 Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development published the latest PISA results and Singapore students' scientific achievements, combined with Singapore junior high school science syllabus, this paper analyzed the scientific inquiry thought embodied in junior high school chemistry textbooks in Singapore. Taking the Discover Chemistry textbook as the material, this paper selected from the inquiry activities of the experiment, investigation, reflection and communication, dug the scientific literacy, and analyzed the inquiry ideas of textbooks. The purpose was to provide enlightenment for the compilation and revision of the contents of scientific inquiry in Chinese textbooks, and to provide reference for teachers and students to carry out effective inquiry activities.
