Abstract An important fascination of physical chemistry is that some formulas are cross-correlated. Taking the adiabatic process equation of ideal gas as an example, this paper describes in detail the deduction process from the four different starting points including the first law of thermodynamics, the formulas for calculating the entropy difference, the partial differential relations and the total differential equations, by using the necessary thermodynamic relations, and finally reaching the same end point.
