Abstract As a green and clean oxidant, it is very attractive to oxidize benzene with hydrogen peroxide to obtain phenol. In this paper, different kinds of heterogeneous catalysts, such as molecular sieves, carbon-based materials, metal oxides and metal organic frameworks for the oxidation of benzene to phenol with hydrogen peroxide are reviewed. The preparation routes, reaction mechanisms and catalytic performances are mainly discussed. It can provide a useful perspective for rational design of new heterogeneous catalysis.
