Abstract Large-scale instruments and equipments are the core force for universities to lead original innovation and technological progress. In the new era,it is an innovative measure for universities to carry out science popularization education and serve the society to excavate the connotation of science popularization of large instruments. This paper expounds the practical significance of carrying out popular science education with large instruments, and analyzes the realization way of carrying out popular science education with large instruments. It takes electron microscope as an example to explore the feasibility of carrying out popular science education with large instruments.
