Abstract  Aimed at fostering the problem-solving mentality of students, this paper intends to develop an inquiry teaching design applicable to the task “the nature of the formation of precipitation”. The attempt to develop a problem-inquiry teaching design that instructs students how to solve specific problems would in turn improve their abilities to use the equilibrium theory knowledge to analyze and solve practical problems and construct the essential features of scientific concepts.
