Abstract How to optimize the open training management system, improve the utilization efficiency and also give full play to the potential of large-scale instrument as high-quality scientific research and teaching carrier, is a common topic faced by university public service platforms. In light of the current situation and existing problems of the Instrument Analysis and Testing Center in our college, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is first taken as an example to develop a new training and opening system and mode to realize those aims. According to XPS characteristics and fully relying on the current opening management software and hardware conditions of the platform, such system and mode is characterized by differentiated and complementary instrument utilization, user classification, user online and offline training combination and multi-level training management. Further, the assistant tester system, customized service and the experimental case database construction, are selected as emphases to push scientific research back-feeding to teaching and teaching to promote scientific research. After several years of operation, this system and model has been proved to significantly reduce man-made fault, ensure long-term and normal running and thus achieve full-time opening, simultaneously increase the quantity and quality of resulted test data and published papers, and improve the quality of talent cultivation. While promoting the integration of science and education, it also provides reference and experience for other large instrument management.
