Abstract In this study, the digital technology is integrated into the experiments of dipole moment determination. We illustrate the generation of molecular dipole moment by building a three-dimensional model of molecules from the microscopic perspective. We also dynamically simulate the conformational changes of molecules under the effect of an electric field to show the polarization processes.Meanwhile, the waste liquid is recycled in the experiment to reinforce the concept of green chemistry.MATLAB is also used to design procedures for visual data processing and analysis. This experimental strategy not only increases the students’ interests and motivation in learning but also enhances their data processing abilities, innovative thinking and digital literacy.Furthermore,it paves a solid foundation for the development of the intelligent experiments and the cultivation of future composite talents.
