Abstract Compact Disks(CD) can be divided into three types according to their functions:Compact Disk-Read Only Memory(CD-ROM),Compact Disk-Recordable(CD-R) and Compact Disk-Rewritable(CD-RW).This paper describes the composition and structure of CD and the mechanism of recording and reading the information in the CD.
