Abstract This paper analyzed the different data of energy released by the oxidation of one mole glucose in senior high school chemistry and biology textbooks, and gave relevant interpretation using chemical theories. The energy data in chemistry textbooks was enthalpy change, while free energy change was used in biology textbooks, which caused the data different. Moreover, this paper gave some constructive suggestions of curricula construction and implementation.
