Show Abstract ( 87 )
Greenhouse effect and greenhouse gas emission are main cause of global climate warming. In order to measure vividly and accurately the impact of greenhouse gas emission on climate and human life, international environmental protection organizations and researchers put forward a new concept/carbon footprint0which is used to measure all greenhouse gases generated in human activities. Carbon dioxide is an equivalent to calculate the amount (tone or kilogram as unit) of all greenhouse gases. The concept makes people aware of that everyone leaves his own carbon footprint in modern life and also can reduces carbon footprint to advocate low-carbon life, so it is helpful to waken environmental awareness and responsibility of people. This paper introduces the meanings of carbon footprint and its calculating method, and discusses the relation between personal life and carbon footprint. Moreover, it gives some proposals of reducing carbon footprint from carbon neutralization, saving energy, reducing emission and supporting the development and application of new energy resource.
