Abstract The college students' innovative training program was combined with coordination chemistry theories. On the basis of the theories, the design, synthesis, characterization and properties of complexes in the innovative training program were developed. Furthermore, their mutual integration and development were actively explored and practiced. It effectively integrated the theories and innovative capability, and could provide a reference for cultivating high-quality comprehensive talents with innovative ability.
