Abstract Constructing a high quality dual-qualification teaching staff is the key to guarantee the teaching quality of higher vocational education. This paper analyzed the professional training target and the professional ability of chemical engineering majors firstly, and then projected the teachers' professional core ability and main course supporting students' professional core ability. Furthermore, dual-qualification chemical engineering teacher evaluation system was set up to provide the reference for the introduction, training, assessment and management of dual-qualification chemical engineering teachers in higher vocational education.
