Abstract This paper analyzed the main factors that affected the classroom teaching behavior of chemistry teachers from the perspective of the teachers' demographic variables and their personalities used the questionnaire to investigate the characteristics of classroom teaching behaviors and the basic information of 20 junior high school chemistry teachers such as age, educational background and personality and so on. Data were processed by F test, multidimensional scaling and other statistical methods. The results showed that there were significant differences in teaching behaviors of chemistry teachers and the main influencing factors were genders and personalities. Furthermore, this paper analyzed the different characteristics of teacher's teaching behaviors in different genders and personalities and tried to introduce the multidimensional scaling method to reveal the influencing factors of the differences in teaching behaviors of chemistry teachers.
