Abstract The new college entrance examination gave students more choice of subjects, and also brought new challenges to chemistry. In the perspective of chemistry teaching, based on the practice of classified classes for the students of 2014, through the investigation of factors affecting students' choice of chemistry as high school achievement test or college entrance examination subject, this paper studied the effect of new college entrance examination scheme on chemistry teaching, and practiced the corresponding teaching strategies. This study focused on aspects as follows:the change of teaching organization form, the reorganization and integration of teaching content, the multiple complementations of teaching means, the optimization of teaching method, the renewal and development of teaching conception.
