Comparative Study on Expert-Novice Teachers' Understanding of Chemical Reaction Rate Based on Classroom Observations and Interviews

Abstract  Through classroom observations of the chemical reaction rate and interviews of expert teacher and novice teacher, this paper found that there was a big difference between the novice teachers' and expert teachers' understanding of the same subject teaching of chemistry. Expert teachers had higher level and more clear understanding of chemistry teaching contents, and had more abundant understanding of the chemistry discipline thought, chemical process and chemical method contained in the teaching contents.
