Abstract Taking "determination of lead in toys surface coating with atomic absorption spectrophotometry" as an example, this paper set up a teaching mode of "informatization, project teaching, student-centered" in order to optimize teaching contents and teaching activities including teaching analysis, teaching strategies, teaching organization and teaching effect. It was showed that the information-projects teaching mode could make the obscure fundamentals of courses easy to understand, motivate the initiative of students learning, and achieve enrichment of the traditional teaching methods and significant improvement of the teaching effect.
