Abstract In order to improve the teaching effect of flipped classroom in the chemistry experiment class in medical university, SPOC online learning activities are combined with the process design of flipped classroom. The framework of teaching mode is built from four parts: course objective and content design, teaching strategy design, learning activity design and teaching evaluation design. In the specific teaching experiment project, the teaching procedure of knowledge imparting, internalization and expansion are elaborated. This mode breaks the barrier of time and space in experimental teaching, and emphasizes the creation of situation related to chemistry and medicine in teaching design. The results show that SPOC flipped classroom teaching is conducive to stimulating students’ enthusiasm for participation, promoting the development of thinking ability and the improvement of hands-on ability, and significantly improving the teaching effect.
