This paper briefly introduced the general principle of chiral ionic liquids (CILs) in capillary electrophoretic (CE) chiral separation, and systematically reviewed the recent publications on application of CILs in CE chiral separations in terms of single-and dual-chiral selector systems. Finally, on the basis of overseas and domestic research status, the future prospect of this field was discussed.
