Abstract Taking the organic chemistry sections in Chinese and British chemistry textbooks for senior high school as breakthrough point, the curriculum standard, structural system, material selection, column design and arrangements of typical knowledge for the textbook of CIE A-level Chemistry (UK) and the Chemistry 2 (Required) and Fundamentals of Organic Chemistry (Optional 5) used in China have been compared to find the special characteristics of CIE A-level textbook.
