Abstract  Based on the concept of outcome based education, the paper discusses the design and implementation of cognition practice teaching for pharmaceutical engineering specialty, which involves the orientation of teaching objectives, teaching contents design, program design and implementation, data processing and evaluation of learning achievements as well as the mechanism for continuous improvement of teaching quality according to graduates’ competence requirements of pharmaceutical engineering specialty. The suggestions and practices introduced would provide guidance for the colleges and universities to solve the common problems of cognition practice existing in professional certification and to improve the course construction of pharmaceutical engineering.
