Abstract  This paper emphatically analyzed the positive and negative influences of language transfer on Professional English acquisition, and proposed how to make a better use of language positive transfer and avoid language negative transfer in professional English teaching for Materials and Chemical Engineering. The concrete methods of the teaching and learning were offered to promote professional English learning and teaching work.
