Abstract In view of the abnormal phenomena in the experiment of catalytic decomposition of H2O2 by FeCl3 solution, the effects of reactant and catalyst concentration, solution pH, Cl- effect and other factors on the decomposition rate of H2O2 catalyzed by Fe3+ were investigated by means of handheld technology and control variable method, and the optimal experimental conditions of catalytic decomposition of H2O2 by FeCl3 solution were explored.
