Abstract A scientific innovation research experiment based on the team’s scientific research results, “preparation, characterization and antibacterial activity study of composite photocatalyst Emodin/Hap”, was designed. The composite photocatalyst emodin/Hap was prepared under mild conditions using the natural product emodin and hydroxyapatite. Its crystal structure, characteristic functional groups and chemical bonds, as well as element composition were confirmed, and its antibacterial activity was verified. Through the implementation of this experimental project, students are guided to learn about the principles and applications of photocatalysis, and their interest in exploring cutting-edge science is stimulated, which is conducive to cultivating the students’ innovation and research abilities. In addition, based on the mastery of relevant theoretical knowledge and experimental skills, students further learn the principles and operation of various analytical instruments, master common instrument analysis methods, and certain microbial detection skills, laying a solid foundation for future academic research and career development.
