Experimental Study on Preparation of “Crystal Rain” Under High School Chemistry Laboratory Conditions

Abstract  This paper presents the preparation methods of eight different kinds of crystal rain of seven colors under the conditions of chemistry laboratory in high school,and explores how to increase the success rate of preparation with better conditions. The experiment results indicate that the crystal purity,the natural crystallization process,the pH and the solvent selection altogether have significant effects on the luminosity of the product. This study not only improves students' inquiry and innovation ability,but also lays a foundation for further research and application of the crystal rain.
