Abstract With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence(AI)technology, the application of AI,represented by ChatGPT,in the field of chemical research has achieved numerous groundbreaking progresses. These advancements span across various domains including deep learning, big data and integrated data, automated laboratory platforms, and simulation and modeling, significantly enhancing the efficiency of scientific research. In chemical education,AI technology has already been implemented through virtual laboratories and adaptive learning platforms, greatly enriching teaching methodologies. However, the application of AI in the field of chemistry has also revealed several issues, such as computational errors, conceptual confusion, and the fabrication of references and content.Additionally,AI poses potential risks of diminishing students' logical thinking and writing abilities, and it has limitations in fostering original innovation. Therefore,in the era of AI,while strengthening the foundational theoretical education of students, chemical education should place greater emphasis on guiding students to think independently, cultivating their observational skills, judgment abilities, logical thinking, and stimulating their interest and curiosity, thereby nurturing their innovative thinking capabilities.
