Abstract Students investigate whether potassium thiocyanate solution can be used to test for the presence of trivalent iron ions in the “copper corrosion solution”, using the white precipitate generated in the reaction system after adding potassium thiocyanate solution to the corrosion liquid as the research object. They conduct a thorough and systematic analysis based on microparticles, exploring the source, composition, formation rate, and reaction process of the white precipitate.
