Abstract To fulfil the role of mass spectrometry instruments in talent cultivation,we have established a platform combining MOOCs and virtual simulations for student learning and training.Guided by student needs,we implement refined and hierarchical management, incorporate mass spectrometry operation training into course instruction, research activities, and science popularization activities, promote instrument open sharing, enable students to learn through application and apply through learning, transform traditional approaches to teaching, learning, and using mass spectrometry instruments. This approach enhances the depth and breadth of practical skills development, improves the scientificity, development, and sustainability of instrument management, and forms an“informatized, hierarchical, and open”management model. It achieves a virtuous cycle of “instrument management-scientific innovation-talent development,” and provides an exemplary model for the open operation and educational functions of other large-scale instruments.
