Abstract Physical Chemistry,as a core course in the field of chemistry, not only shoulders the crucial mission of constructing and inheriting the disciplinary knowledge system, but also holds significant and unignorable value in the construction of curriculum-based political and ideological education. Its rich history epitomizes the indomitable contributions of scientists and is imbued with ideological and political insights, effectively bridging the gap between professional knowledge and ideological and political nurturing. This paper endeavors to investigate the integration of chemical history within physical chemistry curricula, along with the seamless incorporation of ideological and political education elements into teaching methodologies. This approach not only boosts students’ enthusiasm for learning and fosters a deeper comprehension of intricate physical chemistry concepts, ultimately enhancing educational outcomes, but also nurtures in students a sound outlook on life, the world, and values.By subtly weaving these elements into the fabric of education,it accomplishes the dual objectives of imparting knowledge and shaping moral character, thereby fulfilling the fundamental educational mission of “cultivating individuals with both ability and integrity.”
