Abstract In Chinese context,the concepts of byproducts and side products are ambiguous,and they correspond to the same Chinese term.Herein,we introduce the differences between byproducts and side products,and suggest two different Chinese terms to respectively correspond to byproducts and side products.It will be benefactory for one to deliver accurate academic communications if he/she masters the conceptual differences.We also suggest the Chinese textbooks to update their contents in association with byproducts and side products in the coming edition.
