Abstract As an alternative energy, hydrogen energy is clean and most promising. In all kinds of methods for production of hydrogen, photo-catalysis decomposition of water is mostly researched. The catalyst is most critical in the photolysis of water. In this paper, photolysis of water by solar energy,improving efficiency of photo-catalysis reaction and development of photo-catalyst are reviewed.
