Abstract In this paper the properties of chemicals used in the black-white photography are described, the effects of pH,temperature,concentration,and stirring ways on the efficacy of the chemicals are expounded. and the causes ofinvalidation of the chemicals andits preventing measureswere explored. Moreover,this papergives chemical methods to change chemical formulation,and physical measures to improve the color tone of the pictures.
