Solid Phase Extraction Technology and Stationary Phase Complexing Method for Enrichment of Trace Metal Ions in Environmental Water Samples

HUANG Qinbin, LI Deliang, LI Ming, CAI Yuedong, CHEN Jie
Chinese Journal of Chemical Education. 2005, 26 (10): 1-2,33.
Full Text: PDF (2675KB) ( 55 )
Show Abstract ( 97 )
Solid phase extraction is a rapidly developing new technology used for sample preparation and a top-priority method in liquid sample preparation. This paper introduces the solid phase extraction technology, and put forward an idea of enrichment of the trace metal ions in environmental water samples with stationary phase complexing method based on the theory of coordination chemistry.

Fluorosis and its Elimination

Dong Baoping

Fluorosis badly endangers the health of the people in the southwest and northwest of China. Fluorine is one of the essential trace elements in human body, but extra amount of fluorine will cause fluorosis: dental fluorosis or crippling fluorosis. This paper summarizes the tragic and stirring history of preparation of fluorine, introduces the special properties of fluorine. Moreover, this paper discusses the dialectic relationship between fluorine and human health, introduces the mechanism and symptom of fluorosis and causes of fluorosis in southwest of China, and put forwards countermeasures to eliminate fluorosis.

This paper gives a review on the structure, physiological functions and origin of conjugated linoleic acid, and introduces the synthesis of conjugated linoleic acid in details.

The Usage of Chemicals in Black-white Photography

GUAN Zhenmin
Chinese Journal of Chemical Education. 2005, 26 (10): 9-11.
Full Text: PDF (1150KB) ( 43 )
Show Abstract ( 88 )
In this paper the properties of chemicals used in the black-white photography are described, the effects of pH,temperature, concentration, and stirring ways on the efficacy of the chemicals are expounded. and the causes ofinvalidation of the chemicals andits preventing measureswere explored. Moreover, this papergives chemical methods to change chemical formulation, and physical measures to improve the color tone of the pictures.
