Abstract The flame of the alcohol burner could be divided into three parts, called inner-flame, mid-
flame and outer-flame,respectively.What is the temperature of each flame? This problem is a quantitative one
and it is difficultto be solved underthe traditional experiment conditions ofmiddle school. Hand-lab technolo-
gy is theway to solve this problem.An experiment ofmeasuring the temperature of the three flames of an alcohol
burner is introduced in this article.
