Abstract  In order to cultivate students' creative thinking and experimental ability, several questions about purification of crude salt were discussed. Can both separation and purification get rid of impurities? Why is there a slight explosion when frying crude salt? Must the salt solution be boiled when removing impurities like SO42-, Ca2+ by method of precipitation? What range should the pH of the solution be kept so that excessive Na2CO3 can be removed?
