Abstract This paper conducted a survey through questionnaires on medicinal preparation students' learning of chemical terms, and teachers' teaching approaches. The results showed that the overall level of normative use of chemical terms by higher vocational students was low. In view of the situation, the author proposed that students' bad learning habits should be corrected and more attention should be paid to the exemplary role of teachers.
