Abstract  The knowledge about student was an important component in the PCK (pedagogical content knowledge) and necessary to implement effective teaching. This study investigated senior high school chemistry teachers' knowledge about students in redox reaction teaching. The t test about independent sample, single factor variance method and monadic linear regression analysis method had been used to deal with the data. The results showed that teachers' gender, teaching age, educational background had significant influence on the knowledge about students; the dimensions of learning basis, process and result had different level of effects on the knowledge about students. And some suggestions in view of the conclusion had been proposed.
