Abstract This paper described the importance of detail teaching for organic chemistry experiment taking the synthesis of acetanilide as an example. First, the students were divided into two groups and different methods were used to carry out the teaching. Then the students' experimental results were compared and analyzed. The results showed that the details of teaching were directly related to the correct operation of experiments. The problems in students' synthesis of acetyl aniline were summarized and analyzed, and the key points of the experiments were put forward.
