This paper proposed a novel qualification mechanism for operating large-scale instruments independently. According to the mechanism, applicants could train autonomously via virtual laboratory system on the instrument reservation platform of analysis and testing center, and they would gain the qualification for operating independently after passing unsupervised appraisal and practical test. The virtual laboratory system was very flexible, highly individualized and especially suitable for independently training of applicants with different professional background and operational abilities. This mechanism could promote efficiently scientific optimization management of large-scale instruments sharing platform, improve the efficiency of large equipments, and provide a new thinking of experiment teaching reform.

This paper described the importance of detail teaching for organic chemistry experiment taking the synthesis of acetanilide as an example. First, the students were divided into two groups and different methods were used to carry out the teaching. Then the students' experimental results were compared and analyzed. The results showed that the details of teaching were directly related to the correct operation of experiments. The problems in students' synthesis of acetyl aniline were summarized and analyzed, and the key points of the experiments were put forward.

In view of the problems existing in the chemistry teaching for related fire protection major, this paper put forward some chemistry teaching strategies. These strategies included choosing teaching contents according to the requirements of fire protection; using case teaching mode; introducing the knowledge of chemical process, assessing and controlling methods of chemical hazards through the properties of typical compounds and their preparation methods; teaching of analytical chemistry through investigation on typical fire accidents; infiltrating ideas of green chemistry and green fire protection; and introducing new advances of chemistry to classroom teaching.

This paper summarized and discussed issues in the practice and exploration on full-English teaching of postgraduates' professional courses "Principles of Catalysis II". This paper predicted the electrophilic substitution reactive site of heterocyclic compounds by condensed Fukui function. Results showed effective prediction for penta-cyclic compound, while poor prediction for hexa-cyclic compound. Then the frontier molecular orbital theory was employed for reactive site prediction, and the results indicated that pz orbital character of the highest occupied molecular orbital was an effective criterion.

Flash calculation is the foundation of distillation operation. Five different cases of feeding status for multi-component flash operation were described and solved with Excel in detail. The fast and brief method elevates efficiency greatly for flash-problems.
