Abstract This paper proposed a new method for the derivation of acid-base titration error formula. Using split idea could speedily derive the error formula of acid-base titration and the complicated processes involving material balance equation (MBE) and charge balance equation (CBE) in current textbooks were avoided. Due to its simpleness and accessibility, this method is easy to understand and master for students.
