This paper introduces the history and current situation of fireworks and firecrackers, discusses the chemical pollution caused by discharge of fireworks and setting off firecrackers,and prospects the future development of fireworks and firecrackers.

This paper introduces the achievements in the discovery and development of green fluorescent protein(GFP) of three scientists(Osamu Shimomura, Martin Chalfie and Roger Y. Tsien) who are jointly awarded the 2008 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Moreover, the structure,properties and application of GFP are given.

This paper puts forward the evaluation framework of understanding of scientific inquiry based on the views of experts and scholars at home and abroad. On this basis, the evaluation index system of middle school students' understanding of scientific inquiry is constructed.
